Docs and help
Tailor is a personal stylist inside your AI assistant. Ask for clothes in your own words, and Tailor searches H&M, Cotton On and Zara and shows the pieces as cards, with photos, prices and a link to buy at the store.
Add Tailor
Tailor is a remote MCP connector at https://mcp.tailor.ai/mcp. It needs no account and no sign-in, and it's free.
- Claude (web, desktop and mobile): step-by-step setup
- ChatGPT (web and desktop): step-by-step setup
- Other assistants that support remote MCP servers: add

What it covers
| Country | Stores | Prices in |
|---|---|---|
| South Africa | H&M, Cotton On, Zara | Rand (R) |
| United States | Zara, Cotton On | US dollars ($) |
| United Kingdom | Zara, Cotton On | Pounds (£) |
Women, men, kids and baby. Each product is sold by one country's shop, in that shop's currency. Prices aren't converted, and retailers ship only within their own country, so Tailor searches the shop where you live. Products, prices and sizes are refreshed regularly, but they can change; the retailer's page is always the final word.
What to ask
Say where you shop and who it's for, then describe what you want the way a product page would: colour, cut, fabric, occasion, budget. Some examples:
I’m in South Africa. Use Tailor to find me a white linen shirt for men under R600.
- One search in the South African shops, men’s department, price capped at R600.
I need an outfit for a summer wedding in London: a dress, shoes and a bag, about £150 in total.
- One search per piece in the UK shops, then a curated set of cards for the whole look.
I’m in the US. Find me black wide-leg trousers from Zara, under $60.
- A search filtered to Zara’s US shop, women’s department, price capped at $60.
I like the second one, but can you find it in navy?
- Tailors the chosen product: keeps its look and changes the colour.
Show me cheaper alternatives to that jacket at another store.
- Finds look-alikes of the chosen product with a lower price cap and a different retailer.
Find me a cosy oversized cream cable-knit jumper for women in the US, under $60.
- One search across the US shops; anything on sale shows its original and sale price.
On the cards
- Tailor: type a change ("in black", "but cropped") and get products like this one, changed.
- Similar: look-alikes of this product.
- Buy: opens the product on the retailer's site, where you buy it.
In assistants that don't show cards, the assistant gets the same results and lists them with links.
Tools
Every tool is read-only. Tailor searches its own product index; it never changes anything, signs in anywhere, or buys anything.
| Tool | What it does |
|---|---|
search_productsSearch products | Finds products from a description of one garment, with filters for country, department, store, type, colour, brand, price, sale and size. |
find_similar_productsFind similar products | Finds products that look like a chosen one: more like this, cheaper options, or the same look at another store. |
tailor_productTailor a product | Finds products like a chosen one but changed: another colour, longer, a different fabric. |
show_productsShow products | Shows a shortlist or a complete outfit the assistant picked, as cards. |
get_productGet product | Returns the full details of one product: description, materials, sizes. |
get_catalog_overviewCatalogue overview | Summarises what is in the index per country: stores, departments, product types, brands and price ranges. |
Tips and troubleshooting
- The assistant isn't using Tailor.
- Make sure the connector is switched on for the chat (Claude: + menu → Connectors; ChatGPT: type@Tailor.ai), and mention Tailor by name in your request.
- The results are from the wrong country or in the wrong currency.
- Say where you live ("I'm in the UK"). The assistant has to pick one country's shops per search.
- The results mix men's and women's clothes.
- Say who it's for. Without a department, searches cover all of them.
- An item is out of stock, or the price is different at the store.
- Stock and prices move faster than any index. The store's own page is correct; ask for similar items if it's gone.
- My country or favourite store isn't covered.
- Tell us at the address below. We add countries and stores over time.
Privacy
Tailor has no accounts and sets no cookies. It logs the searches the assistant sends and the products people click through to, without linking them to you. The privacy policy has the details, and the terms cover using the service.
